Environmental Product Declaration
Verified declarations that qualify you to bid.
In short
An Environmental Product Declaration is a Type III, independently verified report of a product’s life-cycle environmental performance, to ISO 14025. It is built on an LCA and the relevant Product Category Rules, and in construction follows EN 15804 and is registered with a programme operator.
What it is
An EPD is a Type III, independently verified report of a product’s life-cycle environmental performance (ISO 14025), built on an LCA and the relevant Product Category Rules. In construction it follows EN 15804 and is registered with a programme operator.
Why it matters
EPDs are increasingly a condition of bidding — in tenders, in green-building schemes such as LEED and BREEAM, and in public procurement. An unverified declaration doesn’t qualify, so an EPD is a market-access requirement, not a badge.
