What this site is

A description of services. Nothing here is an offer, an invitation to treat, a quotation, a price, or a commitment to supply anything.

Availability, volumes, vintages, standards, delivery windows and prices are agreed in writing, engagement by engagement, after we have understood what you actually need.

Not advice

The material here is general information about carbon markets, disclosure regimes and sustainability regulation. It is not legal, tax, accounting, audit, investment or compliance advice, and it is not a substitute for any of them.

Regulatory positions turn on facts about your business that we do not know from a web page — your scope, your jurisdictions, your thresholds, your supply chain. Whether CBAM, CSRD, BRSR, EUDR or anything else applies to you is a question to be answered on your facts. Take advice before you act.

Carbon credits and environmental attributes

Carbon credits and Energy Attribute Certificates are not financial instruments, securities or investments, and nothing on this site is an inducement to acquire them as such. They are instruments for mitigation and for making a defensible claim.

Carbon markets carry real risk: methodologies are revised, standards tighten, ratings move, credits can be suspended or invalidated, and the regulatory treatment of a claim can change after the credit was bought. Prices quoted here are third-party market observations for the period stated, not our prices and not a forecast.

Our screening — The Five Checks — is our own diligence standard, applied honestly and described accurately on this site. It is not a warranty, a rating, an accreditation, or a guarantee of any outcome, and it does not replace your own due diligence or your auditor's judgement.

Market figures and sources

Every market statistic on this site is attributed to a named, dated third-party source on the Sources & data page, and was accurate as published by that source.

These markets move quickly. We refresh the figures periodically and show the review date, but we do not warrant that any figure is current at the moment you read it. Verify against the primary source before you rely on one.

Figures identified as Offsetease programme data are ours. Figures shown in the market component belong to the third party named beside them.

Forward-looking statements

Statements about future regulation, market direction, project pipelines or projected tonnage are expectations held at the time of writing, based on the sources cited. They are not promises, and they are not a basis on which to price a transaction.

Acceptable use

Please do not attempt to interfere with the site or the server it runs on, scrape it at a rate that degrades it for others, use the enquiry form to send unsolicited marketing, or present this material as your own.

Third-party links

We link out to registries, regulators, standards bodies and research publishers so you can check our work rather than take it on trust. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content, and a link is not an endorsement.

Intellectual property

The text, design, diagrams, code and the Offsetease name and mark belong to Offsetease, except the photography and video, which are licensed from their sources, and the typefaces, which are used under the SIL Open Font License. Credits are listed in the repository's CREDITS file.

Availability

We publish this site as it is and make no promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available at any particular address. We may change, move or withdraw any page without notice.

Liability

We take care to keep this site accurate and current. To the extent the law allows, we exclude liability for any loss arising from reliance on it, including indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
